Detailed Analysis of India’s Team for Cricket World Cup 2019

The Indian cricket team is setting the Australian pitches on fire with a striking already display. They have already reserved the Border-Gavaskar trophy by taking a 2-1 lead and are very well on their way to becoming one of the few Asian sides to win a test series against Australia, in Australia. Last year they took Asia, winning the 2018 Asian Cup with aplomb.

India Cricket World Cup

It may seem amazing that only three players can really walk into the Indian ODI side for the cricket world cup deprived of question as of today: Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rohit Sharma.
Kohli can debatably be considered as the best batsman in modern cricket and thus becomes an automatic choice.

Bumrah has, of late, demonstrated to be an asset for his team and a deadly weapon, especially in the death overs. He has proved to be equally actual in foreign conditions with his excellent performance in England and Australia. Bumrah even scalped 9 wickets against the Aussies to help India take a 2-1 lead in the third test. He thus becomes a no-brainer in the choice.

CWC 2019

Rohit Sharma is the third Indian player that has virtually complete his place in the starting XI. He can single-handedly take games away from the hostility with the bat alone. Once he settles down in the innings, expect no less than big hundreds to flow from his bat.

Anamul Haque dreaming to appear in CWC 2019

Bangladesh opener Anamul Haque says it is his ‘dream’ to play at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.

Haque made three entrances for Bangladesh at the 2015 World Cup, making scores of 29 against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka respectively, before an injury which cut short his tournament.

Though, he found himself out of Bangladesh’s one-day international side for nearly three years after the tournament, before returning in March 2018.

Further chance came against the Windies in July, but he couldn’t make them count, amassing 33 runs in his three innings.

In spite of being left out of the team since that series, he is still doing all he can to book his spot in Bangladesh’s 2019 World Cup squad.

CWC 2019

“I definitely want to play the World Cup,” Haque told cricfrenzy.com.

“In my breath, in my every endeavour, in my net session, gym session, I think to play the 2019 World Cup. To materialize the hope, I will do every possible thing.”

“I made a comeback with the series against West Indies but I couldn’t do well,” he added.

“I was dropped from the team but since then every match is a preparation for me for the World Cup, be it NCL [or] BCL, and so every match of the BPL or if I play any one-day match after the BPL will be like a preparation match for me for the World Cup.

“I will make myself ready always. That’s why every match is important for me.”

Faf du Plessis admits 2019 World Cup juggling act

Test cricket, as most international cricketers will tell you, is the highpoint of the sport and for that reason it is a huge occasion every time South Africa wears white.
2019, however, is different. It might mean more to the Proteas than the other top teams given their history of failure at the tournament, but this is a World Cup year and that will be the import between now and South Africa’s opener at The Oval in contradiction of hosts England on May 30.

Proteas have tried, and failed, on seven detached events to win the World Cup and the nightmares of 1999 and 2015, in precise, still haunt fans of the game in these parts. All roads this year are towards Lord’s final on July 19, so a home Test series against a struggling Pakistan might not appear the most significant task for the Proteas at the moment.

Cricket World Cup 2019

“It’s certainly something that is always in the back of my head,” skipper Faf du Plessis said of the World Cup while in Cape Town on the eve of the second Test.

“You’re continuously thinking about decisions that will impact it.”

Du Plessis had confirmed previously in his press conference that Duanne Olivier, the hero of the first Test at Centurion, would play at Newlands. With Vernon Philander back, it means that one of Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj or Theunis de Bruyn will be out of the XI.

Top six teams from qualifier tournament will get berths in group stage of 2020 ICC T20 World Cup. Four teams from group stage will proceed to the main phase.

Lasith Malinga, skipper of three time WT20 finalists Sri Lanka is disappointed on missing direct entry in super 12 round. He expressed hope of good performance in opening round, to advance to main round.

Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga said: “It is a bit disappointing that we have not been able to ensure a direct Super 12s berth but I’m confident that we will do well in the tournament. Having played three finals and winning once, it is natural that everyone expected us to finish in the top-eight. But we have to take the opportunity in the extra matches of the group stage and prepare well for the knock-out matches. We have some fine players in the ranks and it is only a matter of doing our best when the time comes. We look forward to challenges coming our way as we prepare for the big event.”

Shakib Al Hasan, skipper of Bangladesh expressed faith in his team and players’ abilities to proceed to super 12 phase.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan stated: “We have not secured a direct Super 12s berth but I’m confident that we will do well in the tournament by going through the group stage. We are a side capable of beating the best on our day and I see no reason why we can’t go far in the tournament. There is still some time and we will use it to be at our best for the T20 World Cup. We won a T20 series against the West Indies, the world champions, in their backyard not so long ago. That performance has given us a lot of belief in our Twenty20 capabilities.”

They also reckoned that back-to-back Ashes in English conditions can benefit Joe Root’s team in upcoming test series. The famed pundits also proclaimed that England’s good performance in Cricket World Cup and Ashes can push them for win in upcoming Caribbean series.

The way that Eoin Morgan and the team have played over the last couple of years, they surely have to have a chance. It’s a tournament we’ve been diabolical in over the years. New Zealand favourite for Rugby World Cup with Ireland following

Three times world champions New Zealand are favorites for 2019 Rugby World Cup. But they will have to keep close eye on Ireland. World number one ranked All Blacks had a seesaw year in 2018 with highs and lows. World No. ranked Irish side had defeated New Zealand 16-9 in Autumn Internationals 2018 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Steve Hansen’s All Blacks have now lost two out of three last games played against Joe Schmidt’s Irish team. Johnny Sexton, Ireland vice-captain played important role in the wins. Ireland have revealed that there are some weakness in New Zealand’s arsenal in a long while. This opens up the stacks for the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan.

All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen said: “As of now they are the number-one team in the world. So if you want to make them World Cup favourites, go ahead. I guess they are favourites.”

New Zealand top the World Rugby Rankings, closely followed by Ireland. While other top Rugby Union teams like Wales, England, South Africa, Australia and Scotland are trailing closely behind. It is hard to think of a World Cup like the 2015 edition, when all four semi-finalists came from the southern hemisphere.

This comes after All Blacks lost 34-36 against South Africa in September 2018 at Wellington, thus ending 15-match winning streak by New Zealand. It was first loss at home by All Blacks versus an international Rugby Union side since 2009, apart from defeat against British and Irish Lions in 2017. New Zealand are ruling the World Rugby scene since their third Rugby World Cup title win in 2015. All Blacks are double defending champions as they had won RWC edition at their home turf in 2011. New Zealand were also world champions of the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987.

South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus said: “We’ve shown on the day when everything’s aligned and the guys are all in the same frame of mind, we can beat the All Blacks away and win a series against England”.

“It’s wide open,” he said of the World Cup. “I’ve been involved in World Cups since 1995, but really this one I couldn’t put money on who’s going to be in the semi-finals.”

Wales defeat Australia 9-6 in Autumn Internationals 2018

It is first win for Wales in a decade versus Australia. Stephen Leigh Halfpenny and Dan Biggar scored for Welsh side. Australian team scored with Bernard Foley and Matthew Toomua. This game was important for national rugby teams of both Wales and Australia in their preparations of Rugby World Cup 2019.

Wales scored first in the match with Leigh Halfpenny hitting a penalty in 21’. Australia responded with Bernard Foley smashing a penalty on 33′. Halfpenny missed two penalties in the first half. Scoreline on break time was 3-3 with honours equal. Halfpenny put Wales in front with 67’ penalty in second round. But then Halfpenny had to leave pitch following a high tackle by Samu Kerevi which hit his head. Wallabies player Matthew Toomua equalized the score with 74′ penalty. Dan Biggar sealed the game for Welsh team with 76′ penalty. Wales have been victorious in two matches played in Autumn Internationals 2018 so far. This will serve good in Welsh preparation for RWC 2019. Both teams are scheduled to play in Japan 2019. Australia have lost eight matches of the last ten played recently. Wallabies coach and team will have to bring their End of Year Rugby Union Tests 2018 campaign on track. Australian preparation for RWC 2019 in Japan also needs a fresh start.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones said: “It has been a long time coming. Someone reminded me I was the sole survivor from the win in 2008 and that shows how old I am. This is sweeter. Dan is a competitive animal and he probably wouldn’t have wanted it any other way that for it to come down to the wire and then come on and do his job.”

Australia captain Michael Hooper said: “It has been a long-time jinx playing us and you could see how happy they were to get on top. It was a real grudge match. Congratulations to Wales, but it really hurts. We will re-group. We have got two more games to play on this trip and a hell of a lot to play for each week.”
