Dale Steyn is fast bowler of South Africa cricket team, planning to retire from One Day International and T20 format after the Cricket World Cup 2019. Steyn is disappointed by a lot of injuries over the last couple of years he counts these injuries a bad-luck for him.
Steyn said that “I will be trying to get to that World Cup. But after the World Cup, I don`t see myself playing white-ball cricket for South Africa. By the time the next World Cup comes, I will be 40.”
he said that “I hope that will be my trump card when the selection comes to the World Cup. I may not necessarily play all the time. But I think my experience will help, with me just being there.”
“Wickets are something that`s not guaranteed. I`m happy with that I came out 100% fitness wise. That`s the biggest cloud I have gotten over, especially the last two years.”
He played last ODI series about 2 years ago against Australia in 2016. South Africa cricket team coach Ottis Gibson has not picked him in ODIs and make him clear that he should focus on red-ball fitness. Steyn said that he would love to continue his Test cricket career after World Cup 2019.
