Cardiff Blues and Blaine Scully have agreed to separate after the four seasons of the wing at Arms Park.
The USA captain arrived in Wales after the 2015 World Cup. But with a third appearance at the Rugby World Cup and the growing emergence of young talents and newcomers at Arms Park, it was time for Scully take up his next challenge. Fans are excited to get their Rugby World Cup Tickets to see live performances of their favourite team and players.
Scully said, “It’s a good time, and more than anything, I’m grateful for the time my wife and I spent here. Everyone welcomed us with open arms, and we could not have been more proud to call this team and this place home for two years.”
I am delighted to be returning to the United States and focusing on the next World Cup, and looking forward to our next experience. I wish the Blues a lot of success for the future.
Scully has made 52 appearances in the region, scoring 12 tries, including one crucial last try for the triumph of the European Challenge last season against Gloucester. The wing leaves Wales with all the gratitude for every moment he shared a Cardiff Blues jersey.
I had the great chance to play for two of the proudest and most historic clubs in Europe (Leicester Tigers and Cardiff Blues) and share a field (Arms Park) on which so many great players have played, in front of as many wonderful fans and supporters for the past few years. It’s not something I could have imagined as a young child from California.
“Hearing the chants of the United States throughout the Arms Park in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is sometimes quite surreal. We had incredible results on the ground. I was fortunate to be part of it and I leave with gratitude.”
