Pakistan and South Africa aim good performance in ODI series

Pakistan are hopeful of decent performance in 5-match ODI series against South Africa. Experienced duo of Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez will bring stability to the Pakistan batting lineup. Proteas are also looking to settle combination of their ODI team. They are specially interested in identifying well suited all-rounders. South Africa also want to finalize their spin bowling options.

Pakistan have included Mohammad Amir to bolster their pace attack. Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan is called up after one year. Rizwan is rewarded for fine performance with emerging teams and A team. Shan Masood has earned maiden ODI selection after better showing in 3-match test series versus Proteas. Seam-bowling all-rounder Hussain Talat who is uncapped in One Day International cricket, is also included in squad after showcasing talent for Pakistan emerging team and National T20 Cup. Pakistan will use this ODI series for preparation of the Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.

South Africa have awarded maiden ODI call up to Rassie van der Dussen after scoring most runs in Mzansi Super League 2018. Duanne Olivier has also earned ODI call up after red hot form in Test series against Pakistan. Olivier was also leading wicket taker of 2018 Mzansi Super League. David Miller has also returned to prop Proteas batting ranks. Andile Phehlukwayo and Dwaine Pretorius have filled all-rounder slots in the squad. Imran Tahir and Tabraiz Shamsi are in the squad for the spin bowling duty. South Africa have rested experienced duo of Dale Steyn and Quinton de Kock for the first two ODIs. Heinrich Klaasen will don the wicket keeping gloves in de Kock’s absence.
