What is the story?
Legend of Bianconeri, Marco Tardelli becomes the last former Juventus to analyze the rapid elimination of Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
According to the former Italian international, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the main factors that influenced the unexpected elimination.
Juventus legend Marco Tardelli said Cristiano Ronaldo set the tone for Juventus’ performance and could have done more to stop the Italian giants from leaving the Champions League.
Tardelli, who played 354 times for Juventus in ten seasons, explained Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact on the current squad and pointed him to the Champions League exit.
Speaking to Rai Sport, via AS, the former midfielder said:
“Juventus must work in the direction of the team. Cristiano Ronaldo may have played too much this year, but he is the one who imposes it [the attitude of the team]. Against Ajax, he could have done even more. “
Tardelli then accused the Argentinian striker of Paulo Dybala’s poor performance this season, saying the Argentine striker “unknowingly” was playing badly around Ronaldo.
“I think some players give less with Ronaldo. They suffer with him [around] unconsciously. [Paulo] Dybala is one of them, “he said.
Cristiano Ronaldo, however, has recently ended his rumours that he could be eliminated at Juventus from “1000%”, which confirms his presence at the club next season.
Despite falling to the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Ajax, Ronaldo had a successful first season at the club, scoring 26 goals and 13 more in 39 appearances en route to the Scudetto, eighth in a row for Juventus.
