Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo can be fit for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Ajax. Ronaldo had sustained a thigh injury in Portugal’s tie with Serbia in March. Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play a big part in Juventus’ bid for UEFA Champions League title in 2018-19 edition.
Cristiano Ronaldo contributed main role in eliminating Atlético Madrid in Round of 16 to earn qualification of Juventus. Atlético Madrid were 2-0 ahead in the first leg, but Ronaldo hattrick in the second leg advanced Juventus to UCL quarter finals on 3-2 aggregate. Cristiano Ronaldo is all-time leading scorer in the Champions League history with 124 goals.
Juve will definitely want Ronaldo to get fit for UCL quarter-final. His presence will make Juventus clear favourites against AFC Ajax. Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo will definitely bolster Juventus in Champions League match. Juventus will try to win premier European Football tournament, that they last emerged victorious in 1995.
Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus manager said: “Ronaldo is working hard and we hope to have him available for Ajax. The exam he had this morning revealed that the leg is much better. Then of course it depends how the player reacts and the eventual pain that he feels. There are still nine days to go, so we still have time to evaluate things together. He is doing things he can do right now, it is normal that you have to be careful in everything and evaluate [the] pros and cons.”
