Manchester City has managed to win one trophy – the Champions League – this season and Bernardo Silva hope to correct it in the next term.
Bernardo Silva has promised to fight for the Champions League after being named player of the season in Manchester City during the club’s trophy parade on Monday.
Silva had a beautiful campaign. He made a place at the start despite the arrival of Riyad Mahrez and excelled in many roles.
The seven goals scored by the Portuguese midfielder in the Premier League have allowed City to retain the title. They also won the EFL Cup and FA Cup, which they won in a 6-0 win at Watford on Saturday. Final is coming soon and fans have got their tickets for the Champions League final.
City announced that Silva exceeded the fan vote for individual honour at Monday’s celebrations, with the winner declaring his intention to help ensure European success in the next term.
“Thank you very much, everyone,” he said. “The way you pushed us this season. You made it real for us. Without them [the fans], it would not be possible. Next season, we will come back to give you more titles.
“We worked a lot. We are very tired! The season was long, fantastic for us, but with four trophies (Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield) for the entire team and staff, it was fantastic.
“Let’s hope we want to do better, try to get European trophies too – that’s what we miss.
“Supporters need to demand more from us. European trophies – we need them. Let’s go for that.”
